Half the Man I Used to Be...

Postby Muzik=Peace » Thu Feb 03, 2011 6:03 pm

Hi, My name is Emer, I'm 40 something, and right now I suck. I have battled depression for my entire life. I started meds about 16 years ago, and have (except for some strange times) kept the same medication AND dosage ever since. Alas, I will be the first to cringe at that statement. Unfourtunataly, the nature of my condition seems to hide certain facts of how things really are (read Reality). My overall quality of life has gone down hill in the last year, to an exsistance I would not wish on an Ex-Wife. Um... I love Music?...Play the guitar every day?...Love to laugh?

(((Emers))) You DON’T suck – Life and our way of thinking sometime sucks, but YOU don’t suck!!!!!! Have you seen your doctor to see about changing the dosage of your medicine? I have suffered from clinical depression since I can remember but was formally diagnosed over 17 years ago. I understand the importance of trying to stay two steps ahead of the depression and the crazy thinking. Everyday I TRY to find a moment to find things to be grateful or happy about – some days it is as simple as I am glad my toilet flushes.

Hang in there and keep posting. Talking, writing and letting it all out here in these forums helps. Have a good day, stay strong and you will be in my thoughts.

Sometimes the depression can wrap around us like a fog. It distorts what we see and feel. Don't give into it. fight to see thru to what is reality.
