Hi Angel - welcome to the forum. There are lots of caring people here who are wonderful about lending support. We all understand the suffering that goes along with depression and self harming and would be here to support you should you decide to post some more.

Trigger self-harm

Postby Monty » Thu Dec 10, 2009 11:12 am

Hi Angel,

Also wanted to welcome you to the forums.

It is true that in finding us that you are able to cut through a lot of c**p because we are all suffering from depression so you can get down to explaining your story without having to talk in circles so people don't get worried about you.

I am another one who has found a lot of support from the good people here.

There isn't too much that we haven't discussed here. I think that the only thing is that if you are postings about self-harm, suicide or things that might trigger bad experiences in other people, that you put a disclaimer in your subject line ie "Self-harm, possible trigger".

I went the self-harm route for many years myself. My doctor says that I have just stopped doing it the conventional route but am still doing it. Most days I agree with him but I don't do it (by far) as many times as I have done before. I think that I am getting to feel better about myself as a human being, and that is helping those thoughts

It is tough enough being a parent but to be a single parent trying to deal with depression is a pretty tough positon for anyone.
