I was happy to find this forum today. I'm part of another depression forum that requires complete anonymity and censors signatures and avatars. I would rather be part of a community where I feel I can be myself, and possibly make friends for real. It's hard to make friends when you can't even say who you are or exchange info.

I am 32. Been battling depression seriously since about 2004. Self injured for over 15 years, but meds got that under control. I used to be diagnosed with BPD, but it no longer seems relevant. I have extreme social anxiety, too. I have not worked since 2004.

I am seeking out depression forums again because I'm feeling particularly low lately. I have put on a lot of weight and I drink and eat unhealthy. I have no friends, and would really like to make some rather than spend all my time trying to stay asleep so that I don't have to think about life.

Hi Ella, welcome to the forums. You've found a good place here. Please feel free to use the chat room too. I'm sorry you've had bad experiences there are a lot of caring people here.

While we do have some rule but hopefully you've looked them over and found them agreeable.

Please remember you aren't alone.

Hi, Ella I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. It sounds like you have had a worse mental health history than me so I hope my empathy counts to you. I am a 22 year old male new to this forum as well. I'd like to hear more about what you are interested in Ella? What can you motivate yourself to do everyday that you can learn and be satisfied with? If you like painting or music or writing or anything? Go towards that and focus your happiness, however limited it may be, into a passion and it might make you feel a little bit better.

I am new to this forum too...keep your thread alive if you care about making a connection here with someone.
