Worming and flea treatment for Kittens

I have a 14 week old male kitten, does he need to be wormed and flea treated at 16 weeks? Have never before owned a cat and this is our first and only family pet, so im a little unsure about all these things and im sure my vet is sick of me calling haha! Also another question, only if anyone knows, he gets desexed on friday and im just wondering whether its still ok to worm and flea him even though his getting desexed? Would really appreciate any help!

Sorry Laura, I hope you were able to figure this out. I've alway had cats but I didnt know the answer to this.
