Know you didn't mean this on a religious vein but I thought I'd throw in my two cents worth.

For a long time I was very religious. They I strayed and became a atheist.

Found quite a difference on how I looked at things. When i had faith, which to me translated into having some degree of hope. To when had no faith, which for me meant no hope.

Then I really got to the point that I thought, what was the point.
