ive poped out for some air

Postby xn728 » Tue Oct 06, 2009 3:56 pm

i felt a little low again today, reading the posts makes me sad .other users suffering so much .
i thought of the lightening, the powerful cold war jet fighter ,that stands alone as i do .
yes! lets go flying as i approached the dark grey aircraft i began to get exited ,i know its dangerous
but ive done it many times before,i ran my hand along its sleek cold body .
as i climbed into the cockpit and strapped myself in ,i select various switches and the instrument panel
lit up and needles on clocks flickerd,i sat for a few moments before i started the engines ,he would be here soon
woken from his childhood sleep ,so we can ride together again .russ apeared at the side of the aircraft i looked
down and reached out to help him in ,he smiled at me and climbed aboard ,i pulled the canopy closed and started
the engines the slow whine grew to an ear splitting cresendoe as the two engines roared into life .i turned to
russ ,thumbs up he smiled and nodded .
i took the aircraft to the centre line of the runway ,and applied the brakes i looked all around it was clear.
i slid the throttles to afterburner (this is when neat feul is thrown into the engines and it basicly becomes
a rocket )the aircraft shuddered and shook voilently, i reliesed the brakes the aircraft leap forward russ and
i were pushed back into our seats barely able to breath the shear power forceing our organs into our upper chest
at nearly two hundred mph i pulled back on the stick and stood the aircraft on its tail ,dirt and dust from the
cockpit floor swirled around as we ripped holes in the clouds as we made our way into the heavens .
the sky became darker as we reached the edge of our limit 50.000 ft we could see the earth curve from here
the edge of space ,i would have to be carful ,jet liners often flew these hieghts or just below ,and of course
the raf ,if i have been picked up on radar we would soon have company ,a trained eye would know that only a
military aircraft could reach such hieghts in so quick a time .if we were intercepted i would like to see the
pilots face as he shepherded an aircraft that left service 30 years ago ,piloted by and old man and a seven
year old boy , but not to worry as old as airplane is it will nearly out fly them .we were near the coast now
i had,nt been to the seaside since fran became ill 5 years ago ,i started to lose hieght now i wanted to fly
along the coast so if i drop to 250 feet i would be below radar we followed the line of the coast nearly all
the way round the country the scenary was breath taking ,before heading for home we flew out to sea to do some
aerobatics russ enjoyed these it made me feel sick ,but what the hell ,i dipped the wings and turned inverted
about 20 feet above the waves then i spun out to 10,000 ft to make the journey home .
i hadnt seen the typhoon in our 2 o clock position ,how long it had been there i dont know .but i certanly was
in the crap now ,ive only seen the typoon once on tv this aircraft is the latest fighter to enter service with
the raf and i was in a lot of trouble .the pilot of the aircraft now along side pointed down and forward with
both hands ,it didnt take a genius to figure out it meant follow me and land now .
i treid to figure out were we were .binbrook would be nearby so it would probably be there
id done this so many times and been ok ,i was just to cock sure of my self ,this time i would pay
even though i was deeply upset and in so much trouble ,i couldent help but admire the beutiful aircraft that
was escorting me to my doom ,the clean grey lines sleek ,and smooth and the weapons pylons waiting to have there
deadly missles fitted ,hang on a minute it has no weapons its on a training mission ,
i banked to the left and hit the burners i thought my arms would come off as the power kicked in and this mighty
aircraft tore through the very air we breath ,i looked all round feeling sick with exitment ,i could see it now
turning but i was a good mile ahead ,hang on be carful whats the hieght 30,000 ft ,oh god jet liner country must gain
hieght ,i pulled on the stick harder climb through 45,000 ft and leveled out .looked out all around again ,1
aircraft at about 2 miles cant tell what it is ,were the hell am i now ,let me think ,must think ,work it out man
quick ,only 3 miles from the strip ,great ok weres that air craft ,still no siqn must have been passenger liner
ok calm down ,russ ,forgot about russ are you !good old russ still smiling ok lets get down ,keep your eyes open
for the typoon ,oh what the he,ll whats he gonna do frown us down ,we burst through the cloud at 2,000 ft ,all
clear ,i take a good look round all clear ,nose down we glide down the runway and taxi the aircraft back to it
resting place .russ smiles and waves as he fades from view as does the lightening ,i pat its aluminium body as
it disapears from my thoughts .how i do enjoy flying it takes me away for just a short while xn728

I'm sorry you felt low today but it's good that you were able to get away for a little bit and do your flying. I hate to think that my posts are contributing to your down mood; I'm sorry if they are. Perhaps tomorrow will look brighter and I will be able to post about something nice.
