Hearing people calling you?

I know this most likely happens to everyone once in a while, when you think someone calls you. But lately it happens a lot, I clearly hear as if someone calls or yells my name. One time it happened at work, I thought my boss yelled my name (but I'm 100% he didn't) and I went looking around.. Then realized it was just in my head. Other times I can hear random words, like "hi" or "help" or short words like this.
Anyone else having this? I thought it could be due to my anxiety and severe depression..

me and my mother don't get on too well. (well at all)
sometimes i hear her calling me in a loud voice- like you say, only in my head.. i could be in a totally diffrent location to her and when i hear it i have to stop what i'm doing and i get the shivers.
do you think that your boss has caused you some anxiety/ stress?
that could be why you hear them..

I sometimes hear people call out or hear a babies cry. I think emily is right.... it might have alot to do with anxiety.

My boss definitely caused me anxiety so it must be it.. thanks
