First Post!
I registered today during my lunch hour! I have never been on a board of this kind for depression. It is amazing to me that there are so many people out there that feel the same but I don't know any of them personally! Everyone wears a mask. I have worn one my entire life. Church mask, work mask, family mask. I love to be alone and not have to wear one...but that doesn't happen often. I was glad I read your post first b/c it did not dawn on me that there would be people abusing this type of situation. The last thing in the world that I need is people pretending to be my friend to get something. It is awesome that you do find peace in your solitude and your pets. But I agree it can be so lonely sometimes. I was sort of plugging along after leaving my ex-husband and just figured that as long as I make it until the kids are grown and they are OK, then the rest didn't really matter. Well.....my daughter started exhibiting the same symptoms as me and ended up in the hospital. I was devastated that she would have the same struggles and unhappiness as I have. I guess it consoles me a little that she is getting help at a young age. Oh damn, my lunch hour is over. There are people out there just like you, but they must be hard to find. I have had one, maybe two real friends in my life. I can't tell you how often I wish I had a good friend. Sometimes I think it must be me and I just can't connect with people. All of my relationships are superficial. Back to work. You are not alone. When I look at the sky tonight I will think of your post. Take care.

I have no idea what to say other than I am truly sorry. I cannot stand when a pet dies. It really is like losing a family member. One of the things that always go through my mind is did they know how much I loved them ?? Did they understand how much they mean to us ?? I hope with all my heart that they do. Again I'm so sorry.
love and hugs always.
