Wishing life were more enjoyable
Here I am at 53 and no real friends in my age group to do things with. I have family and sometimes I do things with them, but it is no substitute for friends. My only enjoyments are playing computer games and watching tv and while that is ok I would like to do other things, but at my age it seems hard to start again. I have a long term illness and while that isn't a major problem, I also would like to find more work to finish paying for my car. Without it I will never be able to get out or go to the doctor again. There is no public transit where I live. Things are especially hard at the holiday season.

This is a good place to start reflecting.
What is your job search like? I'm free forming mine, and frankly that hasn't been an effective strategy in the past two months. On the other hand, I am doing more creative things that I like.
Its great that you are a 53 year old gamer ... That shows you have young interests. Can you get jobs involving selling / or supervising the play of games? Your age makes you HIGHLY qualified in that sector.
I'm 55 and a half ... the half seems more important since I've started taking things a day at a time.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.
