Not that I was much involved in the '60's " counterculture ". I was, afterall, only six or seven when the '60s ended, and I was also British, and from quite a conservative social background. So, sex, drugs and rock and roll were pretty much out of the question...

And as far as " sticking it to the man " was concerned, it would have been rather ungrateful of me to try to overthrow " the establishment " when it was providing me with all that free school milk, wouldn't it? Although, I did nag my Mother into letting me stay up long enough to watch Hawaii 5-O on ITV every week. ( I was allowed to watch it on the small black and white TV in my parent's bedroom, on condition that I got ready for bed before it started, and went straight to bed afterwards. ) Does that count as " sticking it to the man " ? I think it should, as that was actually quite rebellious behaviour for a well brought-up six or seven old!
