10 Things Not to Say to a Depressed Person Possible trigger

The list that follows was borrowed from a page by an individual who goes by the name of Noch Noch. She had listed out each of these phrases and made her own annotations about each one. Inspired by what she wrote, I decided to make my own. Some of my annotations are similar to what Noch Noch wrote bu...

Yes and it's more difficult with someone like myself who goes about with this illness of depression like it was heavy luggage. ANd it really weighs you down when the ideas of failure start coming back up. Yes, I agree with you there. The trick is to try not to let it get you down. I know that is ea...

Words from a so-called "Friend"

Just to warn you that there are some possible triggers here. Recently, I had spoken with a friend of mine about why I had left my previous job. Those of you who had read my previous forum post might know this but I'll reiterate: "The job was physically demanding on my arms, my feet and my back....

Back to where I started

Things seemed like they were looking up. At the beginning of the month, I had gone through the ceremony of graduation from College with double majors in professional and creative writing. On top of that I managed to get a job at Wal-Mart doing overnight stocking. I thought that it would be a good th...

I'll keep at it, but really how can one not take it personally when you're passed over for a job?

By that logic I should be closer but in actuality I'm not.

Depression and Job Hunting

Does anyone else find job hunting disheartening as well as discouraging? Each time I do it I can't help but find myself so discouraged that my mind starts to work backwards towards a very dark place of hopelessness and the eventual finality of a very permanent solution.

Hello, 2 years is a very long time to be feeling bad about a breakup. You need help to deal with it and I would suggest therapy as you best start. Essentially you need to learn how to let go and move on. Not as easy as it sounds I know but life throws these things at us and we must survive them as ...

I understand thoughts very well. I'm glad that you are still here. The important thing is not acting on them and getting the help you need. As long as you are alive there is still hope. You can get through this. You didnt get this way over night so it takes time to work your way back from it. But y...

Thanks though it was more than that. I was having thoughts of ending it. Everything just seems so bleak and hopeless.

Breakdown

Hey everyone. Looks like things aren't all that good. Recently I had an emotional breakdown where I was crying quite a lot in my mother's arms. Afterward I had been put back on medication Citalopram 20mg. I just hope that things get better.

Every time I got a death moment or death wish or death thought, I kept throwing them out & telling them 'no'. Trust me I have no death wish and I am not suicidal. I am very scared of dying. And that translates to being scared of living. That whatever I do may hurt me or along those lines. My pa...

I have things that keep me happy for a time. As you can tell by my pic/avatar I am an NHL fan, Flyers, they keep my mind off things. I'm also a big movie buff as well. My problem is that I worry about life and death. And death is nothing I can change. Right now I am trying to find ways to help comf...
