Sounds like it's time for you to declutter and do some makeover to make the ambiance less distressing.

Maybe it's good to talk to someone close to you about this. I also do this sometimes, but if yours is affecting your relationships with people who matter and are affecting your daily life, then it's time for you to do something serious about it.
