Hi,

I have no advice for you ... but I am interested in what you think could be possible next steps. How many different plans can you think of?

Existing in the moment sounds like mindfulness to me. Have you read anything about it? You sound like a smart person who is lost but searching. Mindfulness allows you to pick a strategy that can work for you. But since you are lost it is hard to not panic. When all else fails I try to do something I...

I hate depression it makes you think things like this: What have I become? I cannot remember the last time I felt true happiness. Did I ever feel it at all? Its all blurry now. You have not become anything ... every moment in the future has possibility, but you are right, it seems like every moment ...

GlassHeart, ChocolateIsLove, This looks like a popular thread. I would like to share two things I've recently read from a book by Gordon Livingston (a psychotherapist) called Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart. First, Dr. Livingston asks us to think about why the nature of change seems negative. Bad thing...

Hi ChocolateIsLove, I agree with you that there is a contradiction between Not worrying (and overdoing worrying is to me just another word for anxiety ...) and choice and control. I think I've come by my anxiety naturally, and biologically. In the 2005 or so I got to drive my father to inpatient car...

allseeingi, What a great post. I did learn to avoid these toxic people once I began to realise I deserve better... and hopefully you will to. Is not the same as being happy. I think a lot about the declaration of independence and "The Pursuit of happiness" rather than actually being happy....

Hey Win7, Do you read the other posts too? This is a great place to be negative, and it is nice to see that you posted when you felt better too. Please write as much as you can. I don't really like the chat rooms, but I like the discussions on here. I am really busy with circumstances ... but I hope...

Hi KS81072, My in-laws are having medical problems, so I've been over there a lot and they don't have internet. How I wish they had internet .... Anyway, I like your statement: As I said, I'm confident at this point that I will love this woman to my last breath, but it's not meant to be. Just someth...

moleman & chocolateislove, I think people who are not depressed can take so much for granted. They don't talk about the small things in their lives, good or bad. I think one reason that some people say "get over it" is because they think small events are boring. If you feel the joy of ...

Hi ChocolateisLove :D, I've been really busy for the past two weeks. There is turbulence in the lives of people around me, but I am trying to do a good job keeping just the right distance ... not disengaging, but not making their problems my problems when there is nothing I can do. I didn't go read ...

Ks81072, Thanks for the update. I hope that soon you will be able to read your post with the same objectivity you expressed about re-connecting. Achievement vs. Last Ditch Effort are just the color of lipstick you put on the pig ... The important thing is TO DO, To Be. I think it might be an interes...

You ask: What am I supposed to do when I hate myself more than imaginable, but have no faith that anyone would actually, legitimately care? I don't know what you are supposed to do ... because the answer is up to you. When I read your question I thought about The Wizard of Oz Movie ... The scarecrow...

Moleman, There are other posts like yours on here. Please find them, and acknowledge them. You sound like a very wise man, and your efforts will bring them back to the attention of others. If you look at the statistics on here you will see that many people read the new posts everyday, but only a few...
