Re: Here's one of my depressing stories...

Yeah, it's obviously fictionalised but it's based on things that happened. Not long ago, mental illness was treated with invasive surgery, now it's questionable drugs and stigma! Here's another one, this is pure fiction. I'm a teacher and I wrote this for an exam. At the time, creepy stories were po...

Re: Bella

She'll be back on the road this year. At the moment I have a road bike that I use daily. She's a Honda X11, a naked Honda Super Blackbird. It's an incredibly fast bike, probably not a good choice for a man with suicidal depression but I challenge anyone to get off of it without a smile on their face!

It's not that depressing! It's a good start.

Here's one of my depressing stories...

Here's a short story I wrote. It's inspired by what happened to a friend of mine. It's not been edited yet so it's a bit raw. Empty The bag was straining in her hand. Taught polythene handles stretched thin and they dug painfully into her fingers as she hefted her load along the street, gasping soft...

Re: Triggering*** Bad memories

As a man reading this, I can tell you that there is clearly more wrong with him than there is with you. It's very deeply built into the nature of men to protect women, it's hard-wired into our brains. For him to have treated you like this, and to see you crying while doing it suggests he's a very da...

Re: Bella

You got that, did you? Sadly I lent her to my travel companion and he accidentally set fire to her in Thailand. After putting the fire out (which i had to tell him to do on the phone because he hadn't figured it out for himself) he repaired the wiring and carried on. She took a lot of damage but sti...

Re: Another new depressed person who talks too much.

Yeah, the world is a pretty messed up place. Here's a fun little anecdote about drugs. We used to have a neighbour. She started out a pretty nice girl, she looked after our house for us and watched our dog, before some local abducted and ate him. She was probably a nice woman once but her mother sto...

Re: Morning depression and pen cuts

Writing is awesome for me, it vents the daily frustrations. I like riding my motorcycle, it gives me an enormous sense of freedom but it's almost impossible where I'm living now. Writing is my only real outlet so I've thrown myself into it. Exercise works, I was in a bad place last Friday but going ...

Re: Dear Ex... go to hell.

My point is that there's a reason you chose to be with someone like that in the first place. it's the same reason you didn't exercise your option to walk away. If you choose to blame everyone, or anyone, else for the things that happen to you then you will never have control of your life. Once you a...

Re: Dear Ex... go to hell.

The hardest part about dealing with an ex is accepting that it's really all our own fault. Learning to understand that we alone are responsible for the decisions and choices we make is a very big step in our development as we grow as a person. Whatever he did, you allowed him to do to you. The reaso...

Bella

This is Bella in her glory days. She started life as a BMW 650cc motorcycle. She was owned by a learner and I bought her as a commuter, cheap transport for kicking around on, as well as taking down green lanes at the weekend. She evolved and got a lot of money spent on her. She then became my weapon...

Re: Morning depression and pen cuts

I don't use medication, with the exception of alcohol (not recommending that) but I do control my depression with exercise. I do a daily high-impact routine that chases the shadows away. I don't think you're going to find short-term relief in creative activities but they will help to provide a longe...

Re: Stupid Suicide Forms

I aced the suicide exam when I took it in the UK. I got a full score, which meant I was in trouble. My doctor did nothing, literally absolutely nothing whatsoever. It was then that I realised I was on my own.

Re: Looking For Like-Minded Friends

I'm a writer too and I'm setting up a publisher. I've got a few motorcycle-touring books published, first should come out in a few months. But my passion is fiction, sci-fi in particular. With the terrible state of the industry, myself a few others are setting up a small 'house' and see if we can do...

Re: Being a trans person and wrong hormones SUCK

I get where you're coming from. I'm a rich, highly attractive and handsome man living in the body of a poor man with a face that looks like a potato. Who can't people learn to treat me like the person I know I really was born to be?
