Thankyou CajunKimby. I hope this treatment works out for you. Keep letting us know what your thoughts are .... I've said elsewhere that depression can feel like childbirth, you can't objectively weigh how much your feeling until you're in the middle of it. I've never given birth, but I've been to one.

readytogiveup, I re-read your post, I still have no useful advice to give you. Your threat is scary, I hope you will let us know if and when you feel differently. This is How: Surviving What You Think You Can't is a book you might want to consider. I believe the author would say that the most import...

HI, 49 of us have read your post. I am 59 years old, I don't believe I have anything to say about your post except that I am glad that I made it through my tough times in the 80s. Technology makes the problems we have different for every generation. If you don't get another answer to your question, ...

I hope these posts help you feel a little less alone, a little more normal. I've found that thinking about other's problems gives me insight into my own. One of the things I try not to do is give specific advice, although I am a firm advocate for drugs and therapy, I can understand when people say t...

This is the kind of thing: I don't know if that's just the kind of people I draw toward me or what......Every single person I have ever put my trust in has betrayed and abandoned me. That therapy can help with. I'm on the other side of the trust boundary. I do not have a feeling of trust for anyone,...

One of the things that I hate about depression is that even if intellectually I see the love in works, like cleaning and shopping and remember birthdays and planning special evenings out, this is a good thing to remember that this s all love too, I don't FEEL it. I love your contributions on here, l...

I don't have a clue how to crawl out of this hole.... Did you see Mary's other post about: If you cannot change something, change the way you think about it Is there anything you can do to make your hole a little nicer? If not, there are a whole bunch of threads on here by people who feel ABSOLUTEL...

Thanks Mary, Some of us have more persistent doppelgangers than others. I do agree that these: 1. I did the best I could at the time. 2. I did the best I could with the skills and understanding that I had. 3. I did what I thought was right at the time, later I might look back with more experienced a...

Please recognize that my advice is coming off the internet ... and you should NEVER trust the internet :) I read your line: Kind of stuck in that "too old to play the dating game but too young to be alone forever" limbo As typical for depression. My favorite ads with this theme is the &quo...

Haven't heard from Specter for awhile, so I'll take her place. I love the advice on the doctor's door. And I think "thinking outside the box" is a great way to look to change something. But, I've been burnt by taking that advice from people who later ask "Why did you do that ... didn'...

What you are going through is not anyone's fault, especially not yours. The hospital has social workers who can help you find help ... I am surprised that they haven't contacted you. Contact the hospital, I think they will help you find an advocate to support you on the financial side, and hopefully...

Hey nenkohai2, Thanks for your post. You're right this is the worst part of depression: I wish I could find a method for mental hygiene. Ya know, just cleaning my mind. IDK. It'll all pass, I'm sure. Just today has been off. Just keep trying seems to be a theme in many of threads on here. Do you thi...

Hey Labelle :D , I found this movie and posted it on another thread: Black Dog . I'm reposting the link because it might give you a better way to communicate with your Drs. IMHO (and the movie's) you are not crazy, but you and I are different. I've thought about this a lot ... depression can help us...
