Depression Understood Forums

'I can feel the gloom/depression' coming over me.' A thought i had today and one i recognise as a precursor to it happening. This time though, because i was alert to it, it stopped it in its tracks. Just because a thought comes it doesn't mean you have to believe it.

It was Sunday. It was raining. I had nothing to do. I was alone. I decided to to drive to the local supermarket in the hope that things would forestall or desolve the ominous sense of despair i was gradually being engulphed within. They didn't. Finally i focussed on what i was thinking: 'i want sex'...

Not sure how this forum works, so i'll keep this short in case it doesn't get put up. I get depressed sometimes, like yesterday. When i become aware of it i try and write down the thought i think is behind it...there always is one. Just that one act usually begins to interrupt the negative cycle. Ye...
