Should I send daughter to inpatient?
Hello All, I am really hoping someone will respond. I feel like I am losing it all together. One of my daughter's (daughter is 17) counselors just recommended we send her to an inpatient program at a drug and alcohol center with dual diagnosis care for anywhere from 2-6 months about three hours away...

Re: Musical meds, round 4
Hello Again,
You mentioned rTMS. What is rTMS? I have not heard of this one before. I have two months off from work coming up soon, so I am looking for something new to try. Thank you for any information, feedback, or ideas.
Sincerely,
LisaS

Hello Again, If tiredness is a constant, I have found that my adderal prescription is very helpful in that department. I used to nod off a lot, but not since starting daily adderal. I am between add-on MEDS right now. However, my anxiety is skyrocketing. The last add-on I used was just way too expen...

Should I send my daughter to inpatient program?
My daughter's counselor just recommended we send her to inpatient program at a drug and alcohol center. I knew she had experimented with a lot of things, but I really didn't realize she was drinking so much/often. She suffers from genetic (from me) mood disorders and extreme anxiety. Should I send h...

Re: Please Reply
I just saw your question asking about my "mask." I will think about how better to describe that and reply later when I have a bit more time. Time. I hate time. There is never enough and there is always more to do than time given. Anyway, thank you for the question. It might help my mind by...

Re: Please Reply
John, Thank you. You are the first person to respond to any of my posts/replies/etc. in the online world. I am really trying to keep my mask on, so I can keep on working, especially since work is the only thing I do have some bit of control over in my life. That said, why don't we have a way for som...

Re: Insights for Parents of a depressed person
Yes, yours was a helpful article. I am curious if anyone has ideas for a life-long depressed parent of a depressed young adult. I passed this monstrosity on, and it is difficult.

Re: How Depression Really Feels. How I Feel.
When I read your post, oddly, it made me think it might be described in Harry Potter terms also. Maybe it is a bit like having dementors gather, attack, and tear out all that there is to tear out, but they make sure to leave just enough life in me that I have to survive and endure it over and over a...

Re: Musical meds, round 4
Thank you both for posting your conversation. I am 43 and I am a professional. I am writing because your posts reminded me of some similar experiences. I am about ten years and at least three psychiatrists into the musical med, musical diagnoses, and musical treatment machine that is our mental heal...

I am 43, a mother (Sadly, I passed my depression and anxiety on to one of my children) a wife, a professional; and I have always suffered from major depression, suicide ideation (and attempts), debilitating anxiety, PTSD issues, and It seems that now I can no longer sleep. I see a psychiatrist once ...

Re: Born depressed.
I am 43. I have always suffered with severe depression, debilitating anxiety, a desire to die, and a myriad of related mental illness diagnoses. The only hurdle is my two minor children and husband (he is a grown man though). I feel every day that I am barely hanging on.
