Being Stood Up

Recently, I had joined a site called "OKCupid" and had started talking with this girl and decided to meet up with her and I waited at this place for a couple of hours and I sent a message back to her asking what happened. She asked what my real name was and I answered and she said this: &q...

You are right that there is quite a stigma attached to have a diagnosis of depression. I used to live in a small town and I was so afraid that someone would find out that I was ill, and that they wouldn't let their kids play with mine. Then one day I decided that I had hidden enough, and I wrote an...

Convincing People You Have Depression

I don't know why this discussion is bothering me but it is. I got into this discussion with someone about how I had depression and how I had said this: "Unfortunately it is difficult to convince people of that. Especially with depression people think you're just being emo. Kind of goes to prove...

I did. Unfortunately it wouldn't work for me because I don't have the finances to back it.

I'm sorry. I have no idea what "the secret" is.... I just meant that there are options. Please don't give up on your dream. I'm trying not to Obayan. But each time I read a rejection letter "we cannot accept your manuscript" "your story isn't intriguing enough for us."...

Warmie

I know that now. It's just that I've met too many of these religious and self-help types who think that 'the Secret' or God is the answer to all my problems.

If the letter from F&SF had been an ACCEPTANCE letter rather than a REJECTION letter, would that truly have made such a great difference in the quality of your story or your worth as a human being? I think it would. Becuase if I think myself as a great writer with no exterior validation of it th...

(((((((((( BrokenPen))))))))))))) Wish I had the answers, could type the right thing to help you see the positive in you. I will always try to make you see the real person and to point to your talents, make you truly see them. Warmie If only you were a publisher. That's pretty much the only thing t...

Remember this saying: Try, try again! Food for thought. Warmie Friends may be well and good, Warmie. But the issue that I face is with myself as a writer. If I can't get myself off the ground like this then I don't think there's any real point since I don't really have a lot of skills in other area...

Remember this saying: Try, try again! Food for thought. Warmie I try to but time and time again the reasons for the "end" keep getting longer and longer while the reasons to keep going keep getting shorter and shorter. What I find sad is that I know this woman who is 40 years old who is d...

Another rejection

Earlier today, I had received yet another rejection letter from "The magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction" for my flash fiction story "Interactive Creativity".

Honestly, life just gives one blow after another. Almost like it's coaxing me on to end it.

Indeed, Warmie! ((((((Warmie and BrokenPen))))))))) I agree that sex isn't everything. When I meet people (however few and far between that is), I always try to make sure that I am going in with the right intentions. Besides, I think it is more fun when I have someone I can do things with, like go ...
