Bardster's post

Hi Bardsley, Thank you so much for caring, and I'm very sorry you still feel the same way I felt when I posted my problem. I feel very lucky and grateful right now as last week my psychiatrist raised the dose significantly on one of my meds, and the effect was positive very quickly. I've also explo...

Let's talk about how this condition is really affecting us

I certainly accept your apology. I don't know what I'm open to anymore. I am so bored right now, I want to rn out and scream in the middle of the street. My husband is working from home right here. I haven't worked in around 20 years. I do lots of things. I belong to lots of things, but don't really...

Let's talk about how this condition is really affecting us

I think I've given you the wrong impression. I have had dysthymia/depression for as long as I can remember. I've been on meds for over 20 years. Lots of them. I see a psychiatrist regularly and a therapist. I am not engaging in self-victimization. I know this whole thing is a process and what I do e...

Let's talk about how this condition is really affecting us

I'd like to start a dialogue among all of us suffering from dysthymia and/or depression. Let's not just express all the platitudes and self help tips like getting enough rest, exercising, eating right, volunteering, going to a group, seeing physicians, telling ourselves countless times that we're w...

Tell me How you Feel

How do I feel? Awful, today. I just cancelled lunch with my one friend because I can't bear to be with someone who is happy all the time. I'm 74 and can't make any friends, even though I go to several interest groups. I've burnt so many bridges. I take lots of meds, but I think they help stave off ...

Looking for Help with my Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

I wish I could help you. Yes, we are supposed to change our negative thoughts to positive. However, when I do that, I don't even believe the positive thought, nor do I think it carries over into my miserable, pathetic life. I really don't know how much longer I can take this. People on these forums...

Dysthymia, recurring clinical moderate to severe depression

[size=18]I'm on a lot of meds, which may help prevent very serious depression, but I'm feeling pretty horrible for the past few weeks. Family is not enough. Burnt all my bridges. Go to lots of "interest" groups, but never make any friends. Married. Husband still works but is supportive. Ha...
