Re: How to be a Mommy with depression.
Hi Ender, I really liked your posts. Sometimes on here we have people who post because when they post their circumstances they have every right to be depressed. As a person who has two dogs, a support system, a grown child, and have a role as a grand-uncle, I wonder WHAT is wrong with me that I am s...

Ender, I just noticed that you have a lot of recent posts on here. With respect to therapy: There seem to be several types of therapy for depression. What is the type of therapy that your therapist is using? Why don't you think you are progressing? Switching therapists doesn't have to be starting fr...

Re: Ketamine
I would feel better about posts from people who have a history on the board before popping up with two posts and proposing a miracle cure. I'm not saying that these folks have a hidden agenda, but why post on this board if you are feeling good? If you look at the read / post ratio you can see that o...

I'm always suspicious of magic bullets. Could you tell us more Cowboy954? It is my belief that change has to occur from the inside, but that drugs provide a way to effect that change. I am depressed, but not bi-polar. Because my mood never has a phase when I feel good, I look for ways to build habit...

Re: It's been awhile
Hi Ender, Is your name taken from the Orson Scott Card books? We could have a thread on the difference between Ender and Bean ... I do think we understand. I would love to see more threads on HOW. The two things I've learned here in the past two years are first how debilitating depression can be, an...

Re: Am I suffering from Depression?
Hi Woodland, Welcome to the group. I would also categorize myself as a huge mess ... although perhaps one on the road to recovery. I definitely think you should talk to your GP, first based on your feelings, and second based on your family history. We know that a component of depression can be genet...

Re: 7 Years Already
The fact that you are dealing with those problems is amazing. Do you have a gratitude journal? I am grateful for all the support that I get on a daily basis. I have faith that on average things get better as long as I keep trying. I will find ways around my difficulties. It must be awful to want to ...

I've seen other posts about the effectiveness of vitamins.
I'm pretty sure that vitamin C does no harm, so I guess there is minimal harm in trying it.

Great reply Woodland.
Really captures the limitations of this means of communication.
We are all friends separated by distance, so the primary things we can offer are sympathy and understanding.

Re: I need advice please.
I'm sorry that I have no advice for you, except maybe keep writing. Have you been on the chat rooms? I wouldn't ask for advice for yourself, but you might share some of the things you're going through there and look for people that have overcome similar difficulties. My take on medicine is that it c...

I find that listening to other people on these forums has given me clues as to handle situations, but often the connections aren't evident. Posts by the user JonsDragonEyes have been really helpful to me. Check some of them out. Look through the topic index by clicking on the link board index under ...

Re: Odd Memories, strange days.
I also often get questioned because I say things that are strange, and because I have a very dark sense of humor. Have you ever seen the movie "The Aristocrats" ... look it up on Wikipedia, it is a bunch of comedians sharing their personal take on the worst joke in the world. I love the mo...

Hi Daffodilly, Thanks for reporting in. I am not sure why no one is answering your posts ... I really identify with what you said, but have not great advice to give. I thought this was a good post: DEPRESSION, ANXIETY AND BIPOLAR DISORDER/Your Story/Sticky points that worked for me Would you be able...

PlumChartreuse, I think I understand much of what you're saying. Did you read the post: DEPRESSION, ANXIETY AND BIPOLAR DISORDER/Your Story/Sticky points that worked for me I agree that "Just Take Action" is about as effective as "get over it" and all the other helpful advice we ...
