Depression Understood Forums

Has anyone ever felt like people don't care until your problems affect them? Like, unless you are depressed enough, suicidal enough, or bad enough to reach their standard, they don't check in or offer support.....
and that hurts.

Thank you for checking in Frame... that is really really kind. Seriously couldn't have happened on a more needed day. I was hospitalized again a few weeks ago for an attempt. Now I am in an intensive therapy program. I am trying to stay hopeful that it will help. But it is hard. How are you doing?

I had a therapist back home, but since coming to college I haven't seen anyone. I have an appointment in 2 weeks.

You don't sound like a jerk at ALL. It's good to be honest with how you are feeling, and there is no better place to do that then here! I am down almost all of the time. That's depression, and I get that. Just don't give up hope. It's all we have.

All I can say is that I know how that feels. You're not alone in your feelings. Someone told me a few days ago, that sometimes the only thing you have to live for is the hope that one day things will get better. That's what I am hanging on to. You can do the same!
