I've been struggling with the motivation to go into work, too. Currently I'm employed as a peer tutor on campus, which means that other people are directly impacted by my performance. However, this is an inherently fulfilling job so I may have some advantages over, say... someone who has to go into ...

You're allowed to feel bad. What matters is that you stay to find better days.

Is it possible you could see a professional? If you're experiencing auditory hallucinations they may be able to help with that, and with that out of the way everything else should come easier. It's hard to take care of oneself with something like that in the way. Sometimes families are supportive......

I've had a small mineral collection for awhile, though I might start getting rid of it since I don't have much space for it and I don't really admire it. I'll be keeping any hematite, though.

There are no monsters inside people. We hear dissonance in ourselves, but dissonance is also utilized in beautiful music.

I actually hear a lot about this. A few people have mentioned that online dating helped them get a foot in the door, but it still leaves the offline impression.

Life away from home can be hard, but the freedom is often liberating. You work, you sweat, you struggle, and maybe you even fail, but you get to do it on your terms and enjoy all the fruits of the work you've put into living the life you want to live - and sometimes, it's really, really good. It's y...

Can you e-mail your teachers to ask for some help? They won't give you the answers, but they're typically willing to help explain the assignment in more detail if you're not understanding it. I know I had to send out a lot last semester; programming was hard to get started on!

We all get crummy periods, though I'm not sure about the context of this post... I used to be pretty hard on myself when I had bad days or bad weeks, but I can't be happy all the time and chastising myself over it just made me feel like I was going backwards when I really wasn't.

I've never understood why people stay with someone who harms them, but I also accept that it's a complex issue. I will say this, though: Nobody deserves violence from the people close to them, and accepting it is saying that it's what your love is worth. There are so many people out there that it's ...

Do I know the feeling... One thing I've noticed is that some people are very, very passive in communication even with people they like and think of. I think it's often a fear of rejection or something along those lines, because as I got to know these people better I learned it's something they're af...

Hello, forum! I grew up with some anxiety issues that isolated me from my peers, so I was very depressed during my teenage schooling years. College has been much better for me so far, even though it's been even less busy socially. I started taking small victories and have had a great 2013, but thing...
