Hi there. I really enjoyed your story. I have a story that shares some similarities with yours, as well as differences. I too was raised in a christian faith, and I was very devoted to it for many years. I have since abandoned that faith, and have been going through an interesting roller-coaster rid...

Yeah volunteering seems like a good idea, I have started to look into it. But even that intimidates me a lot. So many interactions that I have with others end up making me feel worse.

Hey Jonathan ... I think I can relate to what you are going through. School was always very hard for me. Have you tried to do anything about it, besides coming here? Have you talked to people (family, friends) about it? Do you have any idea what is causing the negative thoughts that start to spin ar...

Hey Alyssa ... Welcome to the forum. I hope you find encouragement here. I think you'll find a lot of people who understand ... I know I have personally had a pretty decent support system of friends/family before ... but it's hard when you don't feel like you can talk to them about the negative thou...

Thanks for understanding. Yeah music is good for the soul, you are so right. I try to use music to get me through things that I got to do. I think I need more people interaction in my life though. Right now the job thing just isn't working out, so I'm trying to find other ways to connect with people...

Hey YuYu ... I feel like I can empathize with your situation. Although I didn't have that reaction to going to college ... I developed it later when it came to getting a job after graduation. I developed very intense anticipatory anxiety before the thought of starting a new job and all of the social...

Hey man ... I won't pretend to understand exactly what you are describing, but it certainly had a ring of familiarity to it. Is it possible that what you have been going through is accompanied by a withdrawal into your head? In other words, you're 5 senses are still working fine, you still see and h...

Hey. Your post is heart-breaking. I can tell you're very deep into the horrible mental thought processes that make up depression. I think I can relate. For what it's worth, try to remember that you have a disease. You are not a disappointment ... you simply have a mind/body that is being attacked by...

A long, hard road

Hi all. I'll try to make this short. I started having clinical depression about a decade ago. Since then there have been ups and downs, but it always comes back. My latest episode has been going on for a few years now. I have been very socially isolated, partly from my own doing. The fact that I'm u...
