Always Tired

Postby Orchaid Lover » Wed Jan 11, 2017 12:18 am

I've been dealing with my depression for four years and I've realized lately (as in the past year or so) that I have trouble sleeping and no matter how much sleep I get I'm always tired. Does anyone else struggle with this aspect of depression?

Yes I get like that. That's pretty much a common symptom with depression.

That is why join the form today. I stay tired all the time I could lay down and close my eyes at any point of the day and just go to sleep and not move then I get up and realized it's 3 o'clock and I've been in bed all day. I don't know how to break the habit I have medication however I forget to take it or I just too tired to get up to take it. What I do take the medication I do see a difference and I beat myself up because I know I need to take the medications and then it's 3 o'clock if it's like what's the point of taking the medication the day's over.

Yup I get this to I am forever tired. However to much sleep can be just as bad as not enough. I find I I sleep to long or have a nap in the afternoon I'm a grumpy old bag and moods are worse. Tricks I find that help I to get up at regular times and go to bed at regular times to get a min of at least 6 hrs, I then keep myself busy during the day wether its cleaning the house, going for an hour walk, doing crosswords or the like even going to the mall for a couple of hours just to watch the world go by to keep my mind busy. Hope this helps in anyway. Best wishes.

I found out that a sleep disorder, which isn't necessarily about how long you sleep or how little you sleep but also the quality of the sleep can cause anxiety, depression and mood swings, along with, after several years, exhaustion.

Have you considered consulting a neurologist for looking into whether you have a sleep disorder problem. My son, who we thought had depression, actually had a sleep disorder, getting his sleep issues sorted out resulted in a much better day as well as night.

You are not alone. I feel as if tired is just one of my personality traits at this point :| I'm a perpetual night owl, but even when I get sufficient amount of sleep and hit the hay at a decent hour, I'm still lethargic and sleepy throughout the day.

Yeah I always stay up super late..just because my brain won't shut off and I'm just bored and alone I guess. Then once I get to sleep, I never want to get out of bed. I keep telling myself, just one more hour, I don't want to deal with anything today, and sometimes end up not getting up till after 1pm. It sucks I guess because I still have a ton of school work to do. Plus I have a horrible time trying to concentrate on anything.
