The patchwork girl

This is something I found in one of my old journals and it was probably written at least 18 months ago and does not apply to me today

The patchwork girl sits on her bed
with fraying stitches in her head
A patch here another there
people hurt her and they don't care

I'll patch my back she says through her tears
many knives were stabbed in there
I'll patch my ribs in each place
where you kicked me while I was already down

The patchwork girl sits on her chair
tearing out chunks of her long brown hair
This is one way to control the pain
before it drive's the patchwork girl insane

the patchwork girl lies on the floor
she has given up and does not care anymore
I'll embroider my arms to cover my scars
and I'll cross stitch my legs to cover the bruises

I'll patch my eyes
so no longer will I cry
ask me no questions
I will tell you no lies

The patchwork girl thinks back to the start
way before the patching began
when the little patchwork girls body
was violated so badly by that man

Tugging at the heart here. I know the feeling, and I truly love how you expressed those inner thoughts.

Wonderful but so sad.

Always here for you dear friend,

Love to you

Such a beautifully sad poem (if you see what I mean).

I'm so glad you're no longer in that place, and that the "patchwork girl" is mending.

My heart goes out to you, for all your courage and strength.

Stephen.
