The Locked Door

The Locked Door
I'll slam the door
I'll slam it hard
So hard it warps
You'll have to tear it off the hinges
To open it again
Because you've already slammed that door
In my face
And locked me outside
I won't come knocking anymore
So don't leave the light on for me
I know the welcome mat outside is for someone else now.
Now all that's left for me to do
Is turn around and walk away
Then run
So far
And build a wall so high
Where I might hide,
Where you will never see my light
Or hear the sound of my crying.
I'll slam the door
I'll slam it hard
So hard it warps
You'll have to tear it off the hinges
To open it again
Because you've already slammed that door
In my face
And locked me outside
I won't come knocking anymore
So don't leave the light on for me
I know the welcome mat outside is for someone else now.
Now all that's left for me to do
Is turn around and walk away
Then run
So far
And build a wall so high
Where I might hide,
Where you will never see my light
Or hear the sound of my crying.
