When Did You Ever Jesus

You do not feel my struggles and pain,
Grief all my days and shame.

You did not walk with guilt for crimes committed,
Regret of failures in life or
Wanted to have never been born.

When did you plan for suicide?

What demons pounded your mind screaming?

You did not hate yourself,
Feel worthless, not worthy of love.
You did not grieve that you stole or lies you told.

Did you ever cut your flesh with a knife
To stop the swirling madness inside?

When were you mentally ill?
Medicated, in therapy for years, and confused?

What addiction ruined your life,
Made you a slave to appalling pleasure, and
Did you beg God each night to quit,
Then return every new day to the vomit of
Your own destruction?

When did you ever repent?
"Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful." --Jimi Hendrix

Hi there Larry. It's nice to meet you.

I'm sorry your hurting so much. That's a very hard subject. And I don't want to question or favor anyone's personal , private beliefs. I think everyone has a right to their own.

At times I'm as confused as you are. Wishing , wondering , not understanding.

Your poem kinda reminds me of a song by Dolly Parton and the name of the song is " Hello God. " the words in the song are very powerful as to question his existence and why he let's horrible things happen and where is he when they do.

Reading the words of your poem I see you have a strong heart I can definitely tell. I hope that the struggling your going through gets better soon.
"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place, and I don't care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done! Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain't you. You're better than that! -- Rocky Balboa
