morning

when the morning sun arises
shafts of golden pain piercing my eyes
forcing my shadows into a new day
scorching my tears into ash

an empty world fades into being
a barren wasteland without you
the soulless existence of nothing
but wait, that sound

soft steps approach near
grey trees become green
small flowers glisten
nature's gifts sparkle - you are here

Very beautiful, creaker,
Thank you for a moment of calm enjoyment.
Sometimes, it's the "little" things in life that mean
the most to us...
Laughter, music, art, a good book...
and love's essence spoken to us
through the fluid words of a poem.
