im so sorry for all that you have went through. i hope within time those internal scars will heal, but we will never know. i am happy you shared this with us, hence i have also been through some of the same things you have been through as well. my ex first hit me about 6 months into our relationship. she thought it was fun and games, but it was a nice hand print i had for sometime, anyways this isnt about me. im happy to have been so priviledged to read some of your story and get to know you more on a personal level! stay strong jen, i have all the utmost faith in you to do anything you want in life and you can accomplish it very sucessfully! *hugs* <3 ya

protecting your mind isnt always a bad thing, it sometimes is a great thing that is very helpful to us no matter what we tend to think. honestly though, i tried to make my relationship work as hard as i could until the day she left me. odd i know but i loved her and would do anything for her. now i look back on it and realize i wasted my life just being used and abused. but anywhoo. it all takes time to heal from and its not easy either. it could even take therapy to beable to heal from the tramatizing past. just know im here for you whenever and im always a shoulder you can vent/cry on or whatever.

I agree with pretty much everything you said there.
You know, the biggest step is actually realising that what is going on in your own home is not normal and isnt supposed to be happening.
Figuring that out means you are at least, I think, quarter of the way out.
I think.
Hope it will get better for you, wish you the best.

What most of the general public do not understand is that in many cases, it is often safer for the victim of domestic violence to stay where they are... people only tend to be killed when they leave the person who is beating them.

No one is in a place to judge anyone else, I feel. NO ONE.

Be proud of yourself for surviving it, Jen. And no. Just leaving a situation does not make it go away like magic. We all suffer from our pasts... it's normal. And I am sorry you had to endure it.

((((Jen)))) Our experiences do have a way of shaping us, don't they? Seems that even the negative experiences impact our lives, and make us into exactly what we are supposed to be - and we're usually stronger for it in the long run.

You seem like a very strong girl, Jen. Glad you are looking forward... keep doing that! No telling what amazing things are out there for you in this big world!
