Aimless

Postby 4EverMe » Fri Nov 01, 2013 10:27 am

Aimless

Like a ship adrift
at sea,
swallowed whole
by the gales that assault me,
to often haunt me,
I'm battered, tossed and bruised.
Weary. Lost...Confused.
I seek, yet find find no rest;
Steadily mounting,
the waves crash abreast!
Oh, how the sea tests!

Clapping thunder.
Raging storm.
I fear the flash
of each blinding light.
No beacon in sight!
Bracing, now, to capsize...
...only to now realize...
I'm safely at my port.

Thank you, Frame. You really think they would make good lyrics? I ask, because people I've known through the years have told me that poems I've written should be made into songs.

Thank you too, fallen, for your nice comment.

To be honest with you guys, I was a bit embarrassed after posting it. The top half is okay. The second part ends too abruptly. Ugh! Shoulda, coulda, woulda written it on paper first, and then revised prior to submitting. But, hey...if someone likes it? I guess that's good enough. (though I still wish to revise) LOL. :-)

I'm no judge of poetry or song lyrics, but the words do touch me and I can definitely relate.

Hello Alaska,
I'm glad the words resonate with you. :-)
