Warmie's right; you can start helping by reaching out to this troubled schoolmate of yours. It's a great thing that he's got someone as sensitive as you to look out for him.

Some people enjoy seeing other people suffer to convince themselves that they're not as bad as they see themselves. I believe that generally the way you see others is a direct reflection of how you truly view yourself, whether you admit it or not.
