Ole Santa Clause will be here soon!
The time is getting close
I may leave him raisin bars...
Though, I bet he'd like a roast!
I think he gets too much to eat
It shows on his fat tummy!
Commercials on TV portray
It's cheese he thinks is yummy!!
So, if I leave him lots of food,
After all the time he's drove...
He'll fall asleep, like most men do,
In Daddy's chair by the stove!
Then Christmas Eve night I will awake
And sneak down the hallway.
I'll peep into his bag of gifts
For extra toys with which to play.
Now I won't wake up Mom and Dad
'Cause they may have a fit!
For Santa Clause will be asleep -
his beard with crumbs on it!
Poor Mom will see the mess upon
The floor that Santa made
Then Dad will laugh so hard to see...
The Sleepy Santa, so dismayed.
I will be very quiet
And sneak back to my room,
But as I pass my Daddy's chair,
I'll nudge him with Mommy's broom.
Then quickly as a streak of light
He'll jump up to his feet!
And to the chimney he will run,
More houses he must greet.
Oh, Sleepy Santa, I won't tell
That you just took a nap.
Just please leave us an extra gift
For puppy to unwrap!
I'm going back to bed right now
But I'll get up at dawn.
I'll wipe the sleepies from my eyes
And look surprised as I yawn!
Mom and Dad will never know
The secret that we share!
That you, dear Santa, fell asleep
In Daddy's favorite chair!
