Warmie's thought for the day December 3, 2012

Postby Warmsoul/Jeanie13 » Thu Nov 29, 2012 7:46 pm

Is the glass half empty,
half full,
or twice as large as it needs to be?

(((((((( Warmie, crystalgaze, All ))))))))...Needless to say, very proper, restrained and " British " hugs of course... :)
Afterall, we British are famous for our " stiff upper lips "...!
( I think other European countries are more emotionally expressive. )
I'm reminded of an anecdote about Winston Churchill. The story goes that not long after World War II ended, Churchill visited De Valera, the Prime Minister of the Irish Republic.
During a discussion about the postwar economic problems of their respective countries, Churchill said Britain's situation was: " Serious, but not desperate ".
De Valera is said to have replied that the republic's economic situation was: " Desperate, but not serious ".
