Tell Your Story

Hi all.

I'm currently in Year 12 in Sydney, Australia, undergoing my Major Work in Design and Technology. As part of my major work, I'm creating a photography book where I want to tell the stories of people who have mental health disorders like I do. I want to tell YOUR story, from YOUR point of view. I want to show people that anyone can have a mental health disorder, and that it doesn't make us weak or inferior from anyone else. We are not defined by these conditions. In the end, we're all human beings you know?

Rather than identifying people just by their mental health disorders, I want people to understand we're so much more than that. We aren't just people with mental health disorders. Are you a sister, a brother? Are you a daughter, a son? What are your hobbies, your favourite artists or books? I want people to know that although we have these disorders, we're still the same. I breathe like you, I run like you, I might just like the same things as you.

This project is very close to me, and I'd like to share it with you all. I want to show people our stories. If you are interested or want more information, please contact me. All personal information involved will be kept completely confidential, except for the things that you wish to tell.

Sincerely, from a Year 12 student with depression, severe anxiety and panic attacks. An Asian-Australian, a Marvel fan. An ice-skater and a reader. A gamer and a photographer. A daughter and a friend. And just someone who wants to be able to tell your stories. Remember, we aren't defined by these disorders. Just do the best you can :)
