Rain...
( British weather is taking a turn for the eccentric at the moment. Some parts of England are experiencing shortages of rain, despite the fact that, in terms of overall rainfall in Britain as a whole, last month was the wettest April since 1989.
In South Wales we've had so much rain since the end of March, I'm thinking more of heading to higher ground than heading to the beach!

I made a dumb mistake in that submission. I was supposed to enter the world --- frowns, --- not just copy the previous word which was clowns. Sorry for the boo boo.

Doubt
( As it is now the month of May, theoretically the weather should now be
getting warmer. And, we should be getting more sunshine. But, after what has apparently been the wettest April since 1989, I'll believe it when I see it... )

( Please don't be so hard on yourself, (((( St8arrow ))))!
You didn't make a dumb mistake at all. We all have moments like that sometimes...
According to legend a mistake was actually made during the Second World War by the BBC. King Haakon of Norway and the Norwegian government in exile had been given refuge in London. At one stage, so the story goes, it was decided that King Haakon would broadcast on the BBC to those Norwegians in occupied Norway who secretly listened to the BBC, with the aim of raising their spirits.
However, as the broadcast began the King was slightly baffled to hear the sounds of a coconut shy, roustabouts, etc being broadcast in advance of him beginning his speech... :?
Apparently, it had been arranged that King Haakon's remarks would be proceeded by the sounds of a FANFARE. But, apparently, there had been a breakdown in communication somewhere... So, the sound effects department of the BBC had diligently prefaced the King's remarks by broadcasting the sound of...( Yes, you've guessed it...), the sounds of a FUNFAIR...  )
