...and I sometimes wonder if finding people who can relate to despair I feel does improve things at all... sometimes, i'm afraid it may create a kind of synergy off despair that makes the problem even more insurmountable, even bigger without even a hope of a good outcome... It feels good when someon...

Who is Robin Williams to affect you so much? I overheard something in the news talking about it, but I cannot figure out why is he so important while there are really many people with true misfortune whos suffering can still be fixed. Also, don't believe everything news are talking about. They are i...

People are judging and criticizing creatures. You cannot expect to have a conversation without any judgement, although sometimes the judgement is withheld and not communicated. If this forum is about not communicating (eg. not communicating judgement), then I do understand it, because there is no pl...

Good poetry, but what a message:)

we all belong to Earth, where we are heading, which is the source of my hopelessness... will coming back "home" make us happy? religious teachings tried to convince many about that...didn't quite work with me yet... Maybe, it is not the happiness that is the goal, but conviction in immorta...

Does anybody else find this forum ineffective?

I wonder if I'm the only one. I'm not trying to label it useless, because it may help some people. I'm coming back here not because it works, but because there is no other place (other places have the same effect, really not much effect). Yet, one keeps hoping. The problem is I cannot formulate the ...

sorry, but may be triggering

I think we are labeled as abnormal by the society to keep them from functioning as the system. Depression is something we are made to believe in. But, in reality, there is a clear realization of finality and futility of existence. The loneliness we perceive is the true loneliness of a mortal organis...

It is hard to believe I started this thread more than half a year ago. I'm glad it is helping a few. I'm glad I can run without thinking of pain, just like I did before. I'm glad I can look at myself past from my present state of mind. I'm glad to live in the somewhat normalized future the past me c...

forbetteerorforworse14, the deep end is definitely something to be scared about. On another hand, weren't the greatest discoveries made when facing fearful unknown? Strange, that being happy and content is the goal of so many, while being the opposite is referred to as "symptoms". No, I ha...

If I were him, i'd think I'm being off-loaded to the mental health establishment for my flaws. Doctors and meds didn't help. They may never help, because they mostly don't know the nature of problem (despite their claims). Maybe, there isn't any problem at all. Artistic perception of life does have ...

When all the energy depleted, When the disorder reins at home, When lots of things were tried, enjoyed and suffered, When many more things left there to explore, Please send a helping word, Because I cannot see my path no more... That's not a poetry drill, just sounds like it. Just describes what I'...

Re: MEMs (cultural units of heredity)

Hard to address all the things that are simply a matter of taste and opinion, but let me try: No; sex is not what we have online. That's intercourse, social intercourse . Actually in my personal experience with intimacy I learned to understand how vaguely my partners (only women so far) understood a...

Love and respect are the abstract things I'd never consider together with the concrete sex. Yes, Frame, you nailed it by alluding to the importance of definitions. I have varying degrees of proficiency in multiple languages, but the problem of definition is the same for all of them. My understanding...

That's a good thing you came up with, CrazyLady.
I got it, too, but didn't even mention. So easy for humans to start taking good things for granted and ignore the fact you have them (aka hedonic adaptation).
I hope to find more good things after I'm back from my run.
Take care for now.
