Re: Depressed Boyfreind - How to help?

This is a learning place. It might help for you to post your motivations and thoughts along with your actions, and how your boyfriend reacts. It might give us on the depressed side of the fence insight into alternative ways of looking at what others are thinking. One of the themes I've taken from mu...

Re: Questions about Forfivo VS Wellbutrin

I take generic prozac and Wellbutrin. The name on my pills is busperone 10mg. My dose is between 10 and 30 mg per day. I take a 10 mg every morning, and if anxiety kicks in I take half pills. If I feel anxious at the end of the day I will take a 10 mg about an hour after dinner. I have found that wh...

Re: Hello from new member

Hi Opal Eyes & Pen27, My theme for today so far is will power vs. depression. Will power is the effort that you have to make to do something ... If there is no effort than you REALLY wanted to do whatever you did. Depression saps that want ... everything seems pointless. I've been really busy fo...

Re: Hi

I have been really busy and so not posting.

I think this is an interesting thread because it goes nowhere with all the standard phrases for greetings .... This is how depression works ....

Defeated, I'm seeing a lot of positivity on this board, and I think you are a big contributor to it. I love your name ... because it is a misnomer, just like 100footpole. My name comes from the zen question "Which way do you turn when you're standing on a 100footpole". Similarly your name ...

Stephanie, Are there other threads that touch you on here? In particular are there threads that inspire you to try something new or different? I would love to hear about what you've tried, and how it worked. The responses you might get back might not be too helpful ... except over time you might see...

Hi GlassHeart, I so understand this: . I almost hope to save myself from this kind of pain by refusing to take the risk. I know what changed in me to want to seek love is the fact I am getting older and my body and appearance are changing. The thing I am working on is liking myself. Since my its sum...

I think a lay persons depression might be why do I feel this way when objectively I know there are people with bigger problems? We can't control our feelings or motivations. And I don't think there is a universal way to do that. We all need to work on our own path. That is the reason I post here ......

Believe me I get your fear! In one sense things are going OK for me ... I've been doing more, talking to people etc. On the other hand I notice that I've really kicked up my smoking, doing those things that make me feel productive also cause me anxiety. Much of that anxiety goes unstated. I often fe...

Atandra, Whatever coping mechanisms you find would probably be good for the rest of us too ... What one thing did you do today that gave you some relief? What do you think the hardest part of making a new friend is? My big problem is balancing between trust and independence. I don't want to appear n...

Mrs. Syzygy. The biggest problem in my marriage is my linearity ... which my wife sometimes sees as controlling or boring. For instance I want to have a schedule and I constantly make lists. My wife likes to "get things done", we joke that she "putters" while I work, and then try...

This feeling: when depression creeps in, it has this very powerful ability to make you hate everything vehemently! I am so tired of this. But I have no control... Is so true for many of us. Prozac takes the edge off depression for me, but it doesn't make it go away. I haven't found one thing that gi...

Can't imagine what happened to your name ... this website is a mystery to me. I've never been able to set up a signature for my posts, I get to the screen do what I think needs to be done, and nothing happens. I plan on checking in with my wife to make sure she isn't as frustrated as you. What I'm g...

All we can do is listen, A lot of what I write are things I've internalized by reading books and going to therapy. Please share any ideas you have for why this happened: I managed to get in to see a counselor and feel better somewhat. When I read your post I thought "Change is so hard and so pa...

Nataly87 & Nenkohai2, I think there is always a difference in "recoverablility" in a relationship. In a relationship that works I think this difference changes between the two partners, but for some of us sensitive souls it feels like we are constantly giving more than we are getting. ...
